Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a procurement professional to lead sourcing, develop category strategies, and optimize CAPEX spend in a dynamic environment. You will collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure cost, schedule and quality targets are met.

The role requires a strong financial acumen, 3+ years in procurement, and experience with SAP and office tools. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, with a hybrid work model in the Illinois region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in business, supply management, engineering, life sciences, or related field.
• At least 3 years of procurement/purchasing experience.
• Strong financial/business acumen related to procurement.
• Technical/plant/engineering experience preferred.

• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical and financial skills including cost modeling, budgeting, forecasting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and optimize procurement processes, including competitive bidding and supplier performance management.
• Develop centralized category strategies for key equipment and CAPEX spending.
• Guide stakeholders through the sourcing process with insights and best practices.
• Partner with internal teams to deliver on cost, schedule and quality targets.
• Drive CAPEX procurement standards, templates, RFx processes and supplier qualification.

Job description

• Delivering on Ingredion's capital plan and execution of sourcing events to reduce cost, drive adherence to schedule, and improve service and quality levels
• Developing, executing, and evaluating competitive bids, including providing recommendations to business partners based on operational best practices
• Guiding the business through the sourcing process, and providing insights, advice, and resources (e.g., tools and processes)
• Develop a centralized category management approach and category strategies for key equipment
• Build and develop talent that directly reports to the global category manager
• Supporting the business in performing performance, risk, and relationship reviews at the supplier level
• Building partnerships with front-line business stakeholders
• Drive adherence in use of the company’s procurement technology platforms such as SAP and Power Steering
• Drive adherence to CAPEX procurement policies
• Drive Center of Excellence for Global CAPEX: Improve templates for contracting, RFx, supplier qualification process, drive supplier performance scorecards and improve overall global CAPEX standardization

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in business, supply management, engineering, life science, or other related discipline
• At least three years of procurement/purchasing experience
• Strong financial and business acumen, as it relates to Procurement
• Technical, plant operation, and/or engineering experience preferred
• Ability to multitask with experience in successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously with results consistent with management’s expectations
• A demonstrated history of successfully collaborating with multiple internal stakeholders
• Strong oral and written communication skills, be highly organized, and have excellent problem solving/decision making abilities
• Excellent analytical and financial acumen including cost modeling, budgeting, and forecasting
• Excellent skills within the Microsoft Office suite
