Job summary

Jobtailor in Plano, TX seeks a Senior Category Manager to design and drive strategic category plans across Quality, Service, Technology and Pricing. You will manage a substantial annual spend and lead initiatives to cut costs and improve supplier terms.

Candidates should have 7+ years in supply chain or sourcing, with 5+ years in category management and strong MS Office skills. This on-site role requires commuting distance to the Plano office and carries senior responsibility in procurement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in engineering, business or supply chain management or related field.
• 7 years of experience in supply chain management or sourcing activities.
• 5 years of category management experience; MS Office proficiency including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• 3 years of project management experience including change management.

Responsibilities

• Establish and execute category strategies for Quality, Service, Technology and Pricing.
• Manage an annual spend of approx. $250 million.
• Drive strategies to achieve KPIs such as cost reduction and improved supplier terms.
• Plan and drive annual savings and cash improvement targets.
• Negotiate supplier agreements to optimize inventory, quality, cost, and terms.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and executing category strategies for best Quality, Service, Technology and Pricing
• Managing an annual spend of approx. $250 million
• Driving strategies towards achieving Key Performance Indicators such as cost reduction, improving average payment terms with suppliers, reducing sole sourced spend
• Planning and driving achievement of annual savings and cash improvement targets
• Negotiating agreements with suppliers for optimizing inventory, quality, cost, and terms

Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in engineering, business or supply chain management or a related field
• 7 years of experience in the position offered or 7 years of experience performing supply chain management or sourcing activities
• 5 years of experience in category management; using MS-Office applications including Word, Power Point and Excel (pivot tables and Vlook-ups)
• 3 years of experience performing project management including change management
• Commuting distance to Plano, TX office
