Job summary

Wabash is seeking a Global Category Manager to identify and select suppliers that deliver best value in quality products and services. You will lead negotiations, develop global category strategies, and manage supplier performance while aligning with technology expectations.

You will build partnerships, drive cost productivity, and mentor Sourcing Specialists. Some onsite support at supplier locations is required as part of a collaborative, high-impact sourcing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred in Supply Chain, Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, Business, IT or Organizational Leadership
• Master's Degree is preferred
• 7+ years of experience in supply chain or procurement within a related field
• Familiarity with contract law and supplier negotiations
• Experience reading blueprints and understanding engineering documents is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage key supplier partnerships to reduce total costs and enhance performance
• Negotiate and document commercial arrangements via long-term supply agreements and price agreements
• Identify and develop new/alternate suppliers to secure uninterrupted material flow
• Develop and implement long-term category strategies
• Monitor and assess supplier performance and communicate risks
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to meet cost, performance and quality targets
• Provide leadership and mentoring to Sourcing Specialist(s) and peers
• Onsite support at supplier locations as necessary
• Drive material cost productivity improvement projects
