Job summary

Saab is seeking a Senior Staff Systems Engineer to design, deploy, integrate, tune, and commission advanced ATM systems within the Automation and Surveillance team. The role offers opportunities for international travel and interaction with customers worldwide.

Responsibilities include translating customer requirements into architectures, leading small teams, drafting design reviews, and supporting proposals. The successful candidate will mentor engineers and work with diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics or computer science.
• 15+ years of relevant experience.
• International travel up to 10%.
• Matlab, C/C++, Java programming experience.
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced team.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Technical project planning including cost and schedule estimates.
• Drive to take ownership of project execution.

Responsibilities

• Understand customer requirements and decompose them into system designs and architectures.
• Lead small, interdisciplinary teams to develop designs and artifacts.
• Develop technical documentation and materials for design reviews.
• Lead programmatic and technical discussions with customers.
• Help integrate, configure, and test systems in factory and deployed environments.
• Collaborate with customers, primes, and subcontractors to integrate systems.
• Analyze large datasets to quantify performance and investigate anomalies.
• Support proposals with requirements analysis and cost/schedule input.
