Job summary

Forward is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead the Applications engineering organization. You will own the customer-facing application layer of the Forward platform across backend and frontend, with teams in the US and India.

You will partner with Product Management and UX to shape roadmaps and drive architectural decisions. The role requires 10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years managing engineers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with 5+ years in leadership
• Experience leading a sizable multi-team organization
• Strong background building enterprise software across backend and frontend
• Track record delivering complex software with schedule, quality, and outcomes
• Experience partnering with Product Management and UX/Design
• Excellent communication to senior leadership
• Leadership style focused on ownership and high standards

Responsibilities

• Lead an approximately 40-person engineering organization across the US and India
• Own the application development end-to-end including architecture and release
• Set plans, manage risks, and drive predictable execution
• Ensure high standards for performance, security, and user experience
• Guide AI-native approaches across the software lifecycle
