Job summary

Airwallex in New York City is seeking an experienced AML/CTF professional to lead global money-laundering and terrorist financing risk management within a growing payments platform.

You will translate regulatory expectations into practical policies, collaborate with Product, Risk, Data, Engineering, and regional teams, and support audits and regulatory examinations. This role is based in New York with impact across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of AML/CTF, financial crime compliance, or related risk function experience in regulated environments.
• Solid understanding of AML/CTF laws, regulations and enforcement trends across jurisdictions.
• Experience supporting AML program components: customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, monitoring, investigations, or sanctions controls.
• Experience onboarding, monitoring, screening, case-management or related compliance tech.
• Ability to assess complex customer profiles and cross-border transactions with practical risk-based recommendations.
• Strong written communication, analytical, project management and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain global AML/CTF policy framework with defense lines across regions.
• Advise on risk-based AML/CTF processes: onboarding, monitoring, screening and case management.
• Monitor regulatory developments and update policies, procedures and implementation plans.
• Provide guidance on escalated cases and investigations involving potential financial crime.
• Collaborate with Risk, Product, Data, Engineering, Operations and Compliance Tech teams on controls and workflows.
• Support regulatory examinations, bank inquiries and audits; prepare governance materials and metrics.
• Maintain governance of action items and remediation plans across the program.
