Baptist Health in Louisville, KY is seeking an ED Tech to support the Emergency Department team. The role combines clinical duties with clerical responsibilities to help care for patients efficiently.

Under RN or LPN supervision, the ED Tech performs triage assistance, desk duties, and patient care tasks within scope of training, with formal certification within 90 days.

Job Description:

Job Summary

The ED Tech assists the nursing and medical staff by performing selected procedures and emergent duties in the care of Emergency Department patients. They also perform duties as Unit Secretary, thus having both a clinical and clerical aspect to their role. All functions must be within the scope of training and instruction received and is under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Performs desk duties in a clerical role with high levels of accuracy
2. Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care
3. Assists the nursing staff in triage

Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required

• High School diploma or equivalent with recent experience in a health care setting providing patient care.
• BCLS certified with in the first 90 days
• Previous Emergency Room work experience strongly preferred
