Job summary

Lawyers for Justice in Glendale seeks a licensed attorney with substantial civil litigation experience to join our Legal department as a full-time Glendale-Attorney.

You will handle wage-and-hour, class and representative actions, manage active caseloads, take and defend depositions, argue motions, and appear in court, with opportunities for discretionary bonus based on performance.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice in California with 5+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Experience with class actions and complex litigation is a plus.
• Must be able to travel occasionally.
• Strong organization and client-centered approach.

Description

The Attorney will represent and advocate on behalf of clients in state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing an active caseload; conducting and responding to discovery; taking and defending depositions; drafting and arguing motions; appearing in court for hearings and trial; and advising clients throughout the litigation process. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed, experienced litigator who is organized, professional, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in California or (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the California Bar.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in California and have 5+ years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.
