Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Machine Operator to set up, operate and maintain polishing, lapping and grinding machines. The role emphasizes precision, safety and adherence to standard shop practices within a work cell environment.

You will measure parts to exact tolerances, monitor removal rates, and report issues for quick remedy. Training others may be required, with focus on safety, lean principles and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2 year relevant work or equivalent education or vocational training
• Typical dexterity to set up and operate miscellaneous equipment
• Must work with coolant and oil materials
• Must wear safety glasses with side shields
• Average to heavy weight lifting required

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate and maintain grinders and polish tables following prescribed procedures
• Handle glass placed on polishing tables to ground to spec
• Measure parts to within our specs (.0001s) and monitor rate of material removal
• Make adjustments and report issues to Group Leader/Supervisor for remedy
• May train another operator
• Engage in Safety, 5S, Kaizen, TPM and other process improvement activities
