Job summary

O-I is seeking a Forming Operator Journeyman at our Lapel, Indiana plant to operate the bottle forming line, perform defect analysis, and support break-down repairs. You will work with molds, dope, swabs, and related tooling while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include adjusting temperatures, gauging dimensions, recording data, and re-qualifying cavities after downtime. A journeyman card and the ability to work weekends/holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Forming Operator Journeyman Card required
• Must be able to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis

Responsibilities

• Operate the bottle forming machine, tools and equipment, perform defect analysis and adjustments
• Report bad glass, machine conditions or defective parts to crew-leaders and supervisors
• May take responsibility for additional equipment up to the bottles entering the lehr
• Gauge weight and dimensions on Set-out or random samples and record data
• Re-qualify all cavities after major downtime
