Job summary

ReqRoute,Inc in Dallas, TX is seeking a seasoned GitLab Administrator for a 6+ month onsite contract. You will configure GitLab Runners, Groups, Projects and Permissions at scale, and harden GitLab for enterprise use with SAML/SSO, LDAP and RBAC, while designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using YAML, Terraform, and Ansible.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of admin experience across complex apps, plus hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes/OpenShift and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, IBM).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of administration experience across multiple complex applications and tools.
• Software Configuration Management expertise.
• Experience administering GitLab, Artifactory, Xray, and SonarQube.
• Experience with Terraform and Ansible.
• Understanding and working knowledge of containerization on Kubernetes / OpenShift.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and IBM Cloud.
• Working knowledge of different Software Development Lifecycle methodologies.
• Strong communication skills and a track record of cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Configure and manage GitLab Runners, Groups, Projects, and Permissions at scale.
• Harden GitLab for enterprise usage (SAML/SSO, LDAP, RBAC, backup/restore).
• Design, implement, and optimize complex GitLab CI/CD pipelines using YAML best practices.
• Leverage Terraform, Ansible, or similar tooling to provision and manage self-hosted GitLab and runners.
• Implement GitOps practices to manage infrastructure and environment configurations.
• Automate operational tasks and incident remediation via pipelines and scripts.
• Partner with application teams to onboard them onto GitLab workflows and best practices.
• Develop and maintain clear runbooks, wiki pages, and pipeline templates.
• Integrate monitoring (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK) for GitLab health and pipeline performance.
• Implement policies and guardrails to ensure code quality, compliance, and security posture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve CI/CD and migration-related incidents in a timely manner.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call support rotation.

Role Overview

We're seeking experienced Administrators to join our Code Management team. The right candidates for this role will be able to execute strategic projects, optimize CI/CD workflows, and drive infrastructure modernization. They will play a critical part in maturing our automation ecosystem (GitLab, Ansible Automation Platform, and Terraform Enterprise) as the organization migrates from previously used toolsets, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure pipelines.

• Experience with SCM practices including Agile, continuous integration (CI), and continuous deployment (CD).
