City of Walla Walla is seeking a GIS Technician to assist in maintaining the GIS, support operations, and provide GIS information to internal and external customers. The role reports to the GIS Supervisor and collaborates with multiple city departments to meet data needs.

You will digitize data from as-builts, manage utilities data, run GIS analyses, and create maps and reports. A four-year track record with GIS/GPS/CAD and a bachelor’s degree are required; valid WA driver’s license is also

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS technology or related field.
• Four years of increasingly responsible experience with GIS, GPS, and CAD technology.
• Demonstrated knowledge interpreting legal descriptions and converting to COGO.
• Valid State driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Assist in maintaining the GIS and support GIS operations for the City.
• Research, digitize, and input information into the GIS system.
• Create, maintain and update GIS utilities information from multiple sources.
• Coordinate and promote use of GIS systems across City departments.
• Improve and document processes to support GIS development.
• Respond to GIS requests from other divisions and assemble data for public inquiries.
