Responsibilities

• Perform fieldwork to collect and validate GIS data with GPS.
• Resolve GIS-related issues and provide basic training.
• Develop production schedules for mapping projects.
• Communicate with clients to align deliverables with business objectives.

Job Description

• Prepares and produces maps and other graphic representations displaying layers and attribute data from database, using cartographic techniques to represent spatial data
• Maintains data layers, using GIS tools, GPS units, CAD tools and relational databases
• Incorporates maps, charts, spreadsheet data and text into reports
• Performs field work to collect and/or validate GIS data using a GPS unit
• Resolves and troubleshoots GIS-related problems
• Provides basic GIS software training for internal users
• Develops production schedules for smaller mapping and analysis projects
• Communicates with internal and external customers to align project deliverables with business objectives

Job Qualifications and Requirements

• 5+ years of work related experience
• Proficient in ESRI ArcGIS suite of software
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office software
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and potential clients
