Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience using ArcGIS Pro.

Job description

Nature Works is seeking a part time GIS Tech to support data-driven mapping and analysis work in a remote work environment.

Position Summary

The GIS Tech will help design, maintain, and enhance geographic information systems to support business, planning, and operational needs. This role is hands-on and collaborative, working with Team members to turn spatial field data into useful maps, reports, and insights.

This is a remote, part-time position with flexible work hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Build, update, and maintain GIS layers, datasets, and map products to support ongoing projects
• Perform geospatial data processing, quality checks, and attribute validation to ensure accuracy
• Support spatial analysis tasks, including interpreting results and preparing clear outputs for stakeholders
• Assist with map and report creation for internal and external audiences, ensuring consistency and readability
• Collaborate with team members to organize data workflows and maintain documentation for processes and datasets

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience using Arc GIS Pro
• Working knowledge of GIS concepts, including layers, projections/coordinate systems, and geospatial data structures
• Experience working with geospatial data and performing routine data cleanup and validation
• Ability to interpret mapping outputs and communicate key findings clearly
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to data quality and documentation
• Professional collaboration skills and the ability to manage tasks in a part-time schedule

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience producing Natural Resource maps for technical and non-technical audiences
• Familiarity with data integration and updating workflows across multiple datasets
• Experience using Field Mapper and Arc GIS Online.
• Comfort learning new GIS workflows and adapting to changing project needs
• Experience maintaining dataset documentation, metadata, or versioning practices

Compensation

Hourly rate: $20 - $35
