Job summary

Milwaukee County Parks is seeking a GIS Specialist to help develop plans, studies, and analyses for park resources, parkways, and open spaces. You will inventory assets, support digital data initiatives, and assist with capital planning.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in GIS or a related field, at least three years of GIS experience, and a Wisconsin driver’s license. Wisconsin residency is required with a closing date of 2026-08-23.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in GIS, Geography, or a related field.
• At least three years of mapping or GIS experience.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and eligibility to be a resident.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain data files on park resources for mapping and inventory.
• Use GIS to analyze spatial and non-spatial information and support asset data.
• Create and manage GIS web applications and support CityWorks digital asset needs.
• Assist with grant data, applications, and reports for capital planning.
• Review real estate history and documents; ensure quality service and delivery.
• Participate in special project teams and community outreach.
