Job summary

KaMin is seeking a GIS/Data Management professional to support and coordinate land, timber, and mineral resource spatial data in alignment with environmental and management principles.

The role emphasizes building and maintaining department databases, dashboards, and data profiles, with continual data quality assurance and collaboration with foresters, surveyors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience with GIS, database management, and spatial data analysis.
• Bachelor’s degree in geographic information science, geosciences, data analytics, or other Data Sciences.
• Demonstrate computer analysis skills (GIS, AutoCAD, Carlson Mining Software, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Azure Sql, Sql Server etc.).

Responsibilities

• Supports KaMin’s growth by coordinating the implementation of short to long-term strategies for land, timber, and natural resource spatial data management, in accordance with KaMin’s environmental and natural resource management principles.
• Structures, analyzes and maintains land, timber, and mineral data, by using a GIS based program, maintaining dashboards, and creating data profiles for properties.
• Maintains inflow and outflow of department data into a database, entering pertinent data and ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.
• Assists with maintenance of non-essential property activities and related data management (e.g., employee hunting club, field trips).
• Participates in data analysis for mineral resource acquisitions; supports safety, CI, and process improvement programs.
