Job summary

Doña Ana County is seeking a GIS Mapper Analyst to design, develop, and maintain GIS applications, databases, and maps supporting county operations. The role provides geospatial analysis, addressing services for unincorporated areas, and collaboration with planning staff on projects.

Responsibilities include creating data-rich maps, coordinating with the NM-911 Bureau, and ensuring data quality. A high school diploma and five years of GIS experience are required; bilingual English/Spanish

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of experience in GIS, including ESRI ArcGIS products.
  • No substitution for required education.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and driving record check. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain GIS applications, databases, and related technologies to support departmental operations.
  • Create maps, exhibits, and spatial analyses to support planning projects and zoning cases.
  • Prepare ownership maps, notification lists, and mailing labels for planning cases.
  • Coordinate addressing activities with the NM-911 Bureau and update spatial data as new information becomes available.
  • Train and assist employees in GIS applications and mapping technologies.
