We are seeking a proactive Enterprise GIS Lead Architect to join our Cybersecurity team. The GIS Architect will provide the overarching technical vision, architectural governance, and strategic roadmap for the Enterprise GIS (EGIS) program. This role acts as the connective tissue between mission needs, enterprise business objectives, and technical implementation, ensuring that all geospatial solutions are scalable, secure, interoperable, and optimized for multi-domain operational environments.

As the senior technical authority, the Lead Architect collaborates with the Program Manager (PM), agency stakeholders, National System and Allied System Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG/ASG) partners, and the Government Program Management Office (GPMO), as well as industry partners to ensure the architecture supports diverse mission sets and emerging geospatial requirements. This position will assist in removing programmatic and technical blockers for the PMO, offering decision support, high-level troubleshooting, and architectural risk mitigation to maintain development momentum across teams.

The role maintains strong relationships with internal and external vendors such as AWS, ensuring that mission requirements are accurately translated into technical specifications and that all designs uphold enterprise standards for cloud/on-premise GIS delivery, data model governance, Application Program Interface (API) integration, and security. Key deliverables include enterprise architecture diagrams, technical roadmaps, standards documentation, and disaster recovery strategies.

Required Skills:
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, geospatial systems engineering, or geospatial platform development.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and integrating large-scale GIS solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premise environments.
  • Expertise with Esri enterprise platforms, geospatial APIs, and GIS data lifecycle management.
  • Strong background in cloud technologies (AWS preferred) and containerized geospatial architectures.
  • Proven ability to engage with mission partners, senior leadership, and multi-disciplinary teams across complex enterprises.
  • Experience creating and managing enterprise technical documentation, roadmaps, and governance frameworks.
  • Ability to distill complex technical issues into actionable recommendations for PMO and leadership.
  • Active TS/SCI and ability to obtain/maintain CI/Poly
Desired Skills:
  • Experience working with NSG, ASG, IC, DoD GEOINT missions, or FVEY partners.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automation frameworks supporting geospatial capabilities.
  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect (Associate/Professional). Esri Enterprise System Design. or related Esri certifications. TOGAF, DoDAF, or equivalent architecture frameworks.
  • Experience translating mission needs into vendor requirements and assessing technical trade-offs.
Qualifications:
  • Enterprise-Level GIS Architecture Expertise: Demonstrated experience designing and governing large-scale, mission-critical GIS architectures across cloud, hybrid, and on-prem environments, including mastery of Esri enterprise systems, geospatial data models, and API integration patterns.
  • Cross-Agency & Mission Partner Integration Experience: Proven ability to work across PEOs, federal agencies, NSG/ASG partners, and stakeholders, translating complex mission requirements into scalable technical architectures that support multi-domain, coalition, and intelligence operations.
  • Technical Leadership & Governance: Experience establishing and enforcing enterprise governance, including standards for security, API design, data interoperability, and system integration. Ability to provide strategic guidance, high-level troubleshooting, and architectural decision support to PMO/GPMO leadership.
  • Cloud & Modernization Expertise: Hands-on experience architecting GIS capabilities in AWS (preferred), Azure, or hybrid cloud environments, including geospatial microservices, containerization, automation, and distributed data management, with a focus on performance, resiliency, and zero-trust security principles.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance (SCI and CI/Poly Eligible).
  • Vibrint's comprehensive compensation package includes but is not limited to: competitive salary; annual merit-based salary increase and discretionary bonus program; 401(k) plan with a company contribution; 11 paid federal holidays; 160 hours of paid time off; medical, dental, vision, life and short- & long-term disability insurance; employee assistance program; and a generous professional development allowance.
