Job summary

Salt River Project (SRP) in Tempe, AZ, welcomes a College Intern – GIS to gain hands-on experience in cartography and spatial data work. You will use ESRI tools to map, analyze, and visualize data, supporting departmental projects and business objectives.

Reporting to Cartographic & GIS Services, the intern will build dashboards and story maps, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and develop technical and professional skills while gaining exposure to SRP's operations and the utility

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Junior or higher Geography student is preferred.
• Foundational geospatial knowledge or coursework is helpful.
• Experience with ESRI GIS software is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Use ESRI map products to create maps and edit data.
• Perform data analysis, maintenance, and creation tasks.
• Build custom dashboards and story maps for SRP partners.
• Apply academic knowledge to department projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Assist with data research, analysis, and reporting deliverables.
• Support project coordination and help track milestones and deadlines.
• Participate in SRP's Early Talent Program and development opportunities.
• Perform other related duties as needed.
