Job summary

HNTB is seeking a GIS intern for Summer 2027 at our West Florida office. The role involves assisting project teams with support tasks, data collection, and the development of maps, exhibits, presentations, and reports.

The candidate must be enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program, with a strong interest in transportation planning, GIS, and infrastructure. Relocation and housing are not provided, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology, particularly GIS.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with GIS applications including FieldMaps, Experience Builder, ArcGIS Pro.

Responsibilities

• Assists project team members with various support tasks, including map development, exhibits, and reports.

Our West Florida office is seeking a GIS intern for Summer 2027.

What You’ll Do:

• Assists project team members with various support tasks.
• Conducts basic research and data collection.
• Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
• Assist in the development of graphics, presentation materials and reports.
• Performs other duties assigned.

What You’ll Need:

• Enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program

What We Prefer:

• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology, particularly GIS
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
• An interest in learning and staying current on transportation planning
• Familiarity with GIS applications including FieldMaps, Experience Builder, ArcGIS Pro.
• Ability to communicate effectively through visual and written documentation
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Assists project team members with various support tasks such as development of maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reporting.
• Strong interest in transportation, infrastructure, and the environment
