Storti Quality Consulting Inc in Clifton, NJ is seeking GIS Technicians to oversee the collection of GPS data used to create digital as-built drawings for the utility industry. You will use Locusview equipment to record Tracking and Traceability data for utility assets.

Compensation starts at $32.14/hr. This is a full-time role with responsibilities to maintain GIS databases, validate data, and produce maps and reports for municipal and utility projects.

Competenze

• 2–5 years of related GIS experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Excellent computer and communication skills.
• Experience with Locusview.
• Knowledge of GIS in Local Government/Public Works/Civil Engineering.

Mansioni

• Prepare, collect, organize, and input data to maintain GIS databases including field research and GPS data collection and processing.
• Interpret as-built drawings, construction plans, engineering plans, recorded maps, deeds, legal descriptions, imagery, and related source documents and incorporate them into GIS through digitizing.
• Maintain GIS layers including parcels, easements, right-of-way, and utility infrastructure layers.
• Follow QA/QC processes and perform routine data management tasks, such as data validation and editing in GIS to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with GIS and data analysis, prepare and execute queries, produce maps, spreadsheets, graphs, and other analytical reports.

Storti Quality has an immediate need for GIS Technicians to oversee the collection of GPS data used to create digital as-built drawings for the utility industry. You will collect data using Locusview equipment to record Tracking and Traceability data of utility company assets.

Responsibilities of the GIS Technician

• Prepare, collect, organize, and input data to maintain and enhance Geographic Information Systems (GIS) database including field research and GPS data collection and processing.
• Assist with interpreting as-built drawings, construction plans, engineering plans, recorded maps, deeds, legal descriptions, imagery, and related source documents and incorporate them into GIS through various methods including digitizing.
• Assist in the maintenance of GIS layers including parcels, easements, right-of-way, other development layers, interior space and utility infrastructure (i.e. water and sewer system) layers.
• Follow quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) processes, and perform routine data management tasks, such as data validation and correction, queries and editing in GIS to ensure GIS data accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
• Assist with GIS and data analysis, prepare and execute queries, produce maps, spreadsheets, graphs, and other analytical reports.

Requirements of the GIS Technician

• 2-5 years of related experience
• Valid driver’s license

• Knowledge of GIS as it relates to Local Government, Public Works, and Civil Engineering
