Job summary

Resilience Partners is building a resilient analytics platform for infrastructure data. You will stand up and harden a PostGIS environment, own the schema, and manage migrations for an initial study area.

Your work includes ETL for parcel data, provenance logging, and robust entity resolution across parcels to streamline data quality and trust. We seek a GIS data engineer with 4+ years of spatial data experience, strong PostGIS SQL, Python ETL, and GDAL/OGR expertise.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years professional experience with spatial data engineering.
  • Strong PostGIS spatial SQL skills (buffers/intersections/overlays/GiST).
  • Python ETL fluency: geopandas, psycopg2 or SQLAlchemy, requests.
  • GDAL/OGR for shapefile, geodatabase, and raster wrangling.
  • REST API integration and authentication (vendor parcel-data pulls).
  • Cloud DB operations: production Postgres with RLS, backups, security.
  • Data-modeling rigor: composite keys, append-only history, idempotent loads.
  • pgRouting or graph/network analysis in production; entity-resolution skills.
  • Experience with parcel/land/real estate data; familiarity with NWI, FEMA NFHL, 3DEP, PAD-US.
  • Supabase experience; HubSpot or Make integration awareness; data-license terms.

Responsibilities

  • Build and harden the PostGIS environment (Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL 17).
  • Apply and own the reviewed schema; manage migrations.
  • ETL for parcel ownership data with validation, logging, provenance.
  • Entity resolution: owner and party matching across parcels.
  • Operate data pipelines end-to-end; ensure idempotent, auditable loads.

Job description

Build the Resilience Database and Analytics

Resilience Partners offers variouspredictive-analytics product lines for infrastructure development. As a GIS data engineer in our projects delivery group, you will be a key player in helping tobuild our initial product line.

What you will own
  • The build: stand up and harden the PostGIS environment (Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL 17), apply and own the reviewed schema, and manage migrations from there.
  • Data engineering: ETL for licensed parcel and ownership data and free federal constraint layers (NWI wetlands, FEMA floodplains, USGS 3DEP slope, PAD-US, HIFLD, GNIS) — staged, validated, logged, with row-level provenance.
  • Entity resolution: owner and party matching across parcels.
What done looks like (12 weeks)

An operational database for our initialstudy area. Week-by-week phasing exists; you'll refine it with us in week one. Potential to transition to full-time employment at end of consulting period and associated workflow.

Must-haves
  • 4+ years professional experience with spatial data engineering, including strong PostGIS spatial SQL (buffers, intersections, overlays, GiST indexing) on PostgreSQL.
  • Python ETL fluency: geopandas, psycopg2 or SQLAlchemy, requests; comfortable building staged, validated, logged pipelines, not one-off scripts.
  • GDAL/ogr2ogr for shapefile, geodatabase, and raster wrangling.
  • REST API integration and authentication (vendor parcel-data pulls).
  • Cloud database operations: standing up, securing, and managing a production managed-Postgres instance (RLS, roles, backups).
  • Data-modeling rigor: composite keys, append-only history, idempotent loads — and the judgment to push back on the spec where it's wrong.
  • pgRouting or other graph/network analysis in production; entity-resolution / record-linkage experience.
  • Parcel, land, energy, utility, or real-estate data experience; familiarity with NWI, FEMA NFHL, 3DEP, PAD-US.
  • Supabase specifically; HubSpot or Make integration awareness; sensitivity to data-license terms and PII handling.

Resilience Partners is an equal-opportunity company. We evaluate candidates on capability, judgment, ethics, and commitment to Resilience's mission -nothing else.
