Job summary

The City of Chicopee's Planning Department is seeking a GIS Coordinator to lead enterprise GIS operations, data management, and map production. The role supports cross-departmental GIS needs, maintains parcel datasets, and ensures compliance with MAMassGIS standards while coordinating with IT and external agencies.

Responsibilities include administering GIS databases, developing spatial data applications, and providing training and support to city staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Cartography, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
• GISP or ESRI Professional Certification encouraged
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
• Experience coordinating and managing a GIS system.

Responsibilities

• Serves as the City's GIS point of contact for all GIS functions excluding Police and DPW.
• Manages geospatial databases and data quality for parcel data and maps.
• Develops and maintains GIS data to comply with City and Commonwealth regulations.
• Coordinates GIS activities across departments and with regional agencies.
• Supports integration of GIS with vendor solutions and web mapping tools.
