Job summary

Lazard Ltd. is seeking a GIS Analyst to join the Power, Energy and Infrastructure (PEI) team in Houston, TX, hybrid work arrangement.

The role focuses on creating high-quality maps and geospatial analyses to support M&A, A&D and energy advisory initiatives for global clients. You will collaborate with investment bankers and technical staff, manage the GIS data library, and leverage ESRI tools while exploring AI-driven workflows to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Science, Business, Geography or Computer Science.
• 3+ years of professional experience with an E&P company, energy investment bank, or private equity firm (investment banking preferred).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro in a professional setting.
• Proficiency with energy data services such as Enverus, Wood Mackenzie, IHS (S&P Global).
• Excellent Excel & PowerPoint skills with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with AI solutions and programming languages to automate tasks (Python, R).
• Strong quantitative background and analytical skills with knowledge of upstream, midstream, power and utilities.
• Superior work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Lazard's global PEI team to generate high-quality maps and visualizations for client materials across the energy value chain.
• Collaborate with bankers and A&D technical team to conduct geospatial analyses, data queries, projections, subsurface inventories, land assessments and digitization.
• Manage and update the global GIS data library to ensure current, accurate project information.
• Utilize ESRI's GIS applications while optimizing workflows and integrating emerging geospatial technologies.
• Lead evaluation and integration of AI-driven technologies to speed up GIS mapping and workflows.
• Independently manage dynamic workloads to meet deadlines across multiple projects.

Lazard is seeking a GIS Analyst to join the Power, Energy and Infrastructure (PEI) team based in Houston, Texas. This position will require independent and entrepreneurial workflows with investment bankers, technical personnel and clients to execute on M&A, A&D and other strategic advisory initiatives. The role offers an outstanding opportunity to contribute to the success of a premier independent advisory firm by providing GIS and data visualization expertise to a wide variety of energy clients across the globe.

We'll trust you to:

• Collaborate with Lazard's global PEI team to generate high-quality, fit-for-purpose maps and visualizations for client pitchbooks, live deals, basin studies and company marketing materials across the energy value chain, including E&P Upstream, Midstream, Renewables, Power, Utilities and Infrastructure


• Collaborate with bankers and A&D technical team to conduct geospatial analyses, data queries, data projections, subsurface inventory analyses, land assessments, and digitization as needed


• Manage and update the global GIS data library to ensure all project information is current, accurate, accessible


• Utilize ESRI's full suite of GIS applications while continuously seeking to optimize workflows and integrate emerging geospatial technologies


• Lead evaluation and integration of emerging AI-driven technologies to speed up and/or automate GIS mapping and geospatial workflows


• Independently manage dynamic workloads to meet deadlines spanning multiple concurrent projects

You’ll need to have:

• A bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Science, Business, Geography or Computer Science


• 3+ years of professional experience with an E&P company, energy investment bank, or private equity firm (investment banking preferred)


• 5+ years of hands-on experience with ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro in a professional setting
