Job summary

RJN Group is seeking a GIS Analyst in Baltimore, MD to process GIS data and support mapping for engineering projects. The role collaborates with Project Engineers to deliver accurate maps and deliverables, leveraging Esri GIS tools and field data processing.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant technical degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years in GIS, and strong data management and communication skills. The position supports an employee-owned firm with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Geography, Geology, Geographic Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Planning, or Environmental Science; or similar technical degree or 4 years of relevant experience in place of a Bachelor's degree
• 2 years of continued GIS experience
• Intermediate GIS software knowledge (ArcGIS Pro or equivalent) and Esri GIS core products
• Knowledge of GIS system architecture, data development, editing and quality control procedures

Responsibilities

• Analyze GIS data to identify spatial relationships or display results of analyses
• Create data into GIS databases using digitizing, coordinate geometry, or entry of tabular data
• Build layers and themes from client sources; assist Project Engineers with GIS information needs
• Prepare maps conveying information from project databases for field activities and deliverables
• Review data for currency, accuracy, and completeness
• Maintain or modify GIS databases
• Post-process field data collected using GPS units
• Follow company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Complete other projects as assigned
• Travel up to 15%
