Job summary

Terracon is seeking a GIS Analyst I to deliver accurate geospatial data and visualizations supporting projects and initiatives. You will determine data sources, develop workflows, and create maps while maintaining metadata per corporate standards.

Focus on acquiring datasets, performing spatial analysis, and documenting processes. Collaboration with project teams and training staff on GIS tools will also be part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Cartography, or related field is required.
• 1–2 years of professional GIS experience.
• Proficiency with ArcGIS Desktop/Pro and/or QGIS.
• Experience in data acquisition, management, and spatial analysis.
• Ability to create clear, professional maps, charts, and models.

The GIS Analyst I in the Corporate Services department will be responsible for delivering accurate and current geospatial data and visualizations that support Terracon's projects and corporate initiatives. This role involves determining data sources, developing technical workflows, creating maps and models, supporting field data collection, and maintaining documentation and metadata in line with corporate standards.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

• Acquire, manage, and maintain geospatial datasets for all Service Lines.
• Perform spatial analysis and create visualizations to support project objectives.
• Develop and document technical workflows, maps, exhibits, and models.
• Configure and provide field data collection tools meeting accuracy and attribution criteria.
• Ensure the accuracy, currency, and integrity of all GIS project data.
• Maintain metadata and technical documentation for all geospatial assets.
• Validate that GIS deliverables comply with corporate standards and quality guidelines.
• Collaborate with project teams to identify appropriate data sources and methods.
• Troubleshoot GIS software and data issues, providing timely resolutions.
• Assist in training staff on GIS tools and best practices as needed.

Requirements:
