ICF is seeking a proactive GIS Analyst/Developer to join our growing GIS team in the United States. The role focuses on applying GIS analysis and building innovative tools to address infrastructure and resilience challenges.

You will work with clients and SMEs, translate business needs into data tasks, and develop web-based geospatial applications using ESRI tools, Python, and related pipelines.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or higher in GIS, CS, Environmental Science, Geography, Urban Planning, Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience performing complex GIS analysis.
• 2+ years of experience with Esri’s desktop and web GIS tools.
• Familiarity with Python scripting.

The Work

ICF is looking for an enthusiastic GIS Analyst/Developer to join our growing GIS team and build innovative tools and services that address complex issues. If you are a GIS Analyst/Developer interested in applying your expertise in GIS analysis and application development in a consulting environment, then this may be the role for you.

Job Location: This position requires that the job be performed in the United States. If you accept this position, you should note that ICF does monitor employee work locations and blocks access from foreign locations/foreign IP addresses, and also prohibits personal VPN connections.

• You may be asked to travel once a quarter to an office.
• Our core work hours are 10am - 4pm Eastern Time with the option to start earlier or work later depending on your time zone.

What You Will Do:

• Perform complex GIS analyses to develop client focused outputs, maps, and dashboards that integrate data relevant to infrastructure and community resilience.
• Evaluate and integrate spatial data from various infrastructure, transportation, and hazard data sources and data types (geodatabases, web services, raster and image files) using extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes.
• Design, build, deploy, and maintain web-based geospatial applications using custom and off-the-shelf mapping tools.
• Apply understanding of cross-domain planning and land use considerations to support clients in transportation, disaster recovery, climate resilience, and energy.
• Work directly with clients and ICF subject matter experts to translate business needs into data analysis requirements.
• Lead development of process and procedures for data collection, management, processing, and dissemination.

What You Will Bring With You:

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Geography, Urban Planning, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience performing complex GIS analysis.
• 2+ years of experience working with Esri’s suite of desktop and web GIS tools.
• Familiarity and experience with one scripting language, ideally Python.
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
• Candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S.
• Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years.

What We Would Like You To Bring With You:

• Understand concepts and applicable software tools and analytical methodologies for analyzing and visualizing all types of GIS and remote sensing data.
• Familiarity with automating data pipelines using open source (Python or R) and cloud-native (AWS, Azure) tools.
• Willing to learn how to apply Python skills for web app development and backend scripting.
• Experience with COTS data pipeline tools such as FME, Model Builder or others.
• Familiarity with React and ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript for developing interactive map applications.
• Demonstrated experience showing strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills paired with a desire to take initiative.
• Ability to self-organize, priorities and conduct research on multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• An ability to communicate and write clearly in English.

Pay Range

There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
