Job summary

City Of Chamblee is seeking a GIS Analyst to develop, implement, and maintain the City’s GIS system at City Hall in Chamblee, GA. You will analyze GIS data for mapping and reporting and collaborate with the Director of Technology on projects.

The role requires a 4-year degree in a related field and 3–5 years of ArcGIS experience, with strong data management, field collection, and independent work abilities. Local government experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in GIS or related field with 3–5 years of ArcGIS experience.
Valid Georgia driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online; experience with Esri extensions.
Experience with AutoDesk products and open-source GIS tools is preferred.
Local government experience is a plus.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
Comfort with fieldwork, data collection, and data quality control.

Responsibilities

Analyzes GIS technology needs and plans implementations for City departments.
Develops and maintains GIS data resources for public access using GPS and imagery.
Digitizes, updates, and maintains GIS databases with data integrity.
Designs applications for desktop and web to meet end results.
Produces GIS procedures and tests applications for accuracy and reliability.
Creates maps and data representations for planning and decision making.
Maintains Internet mapping service and provides staff training on GIS tools.
Provides installation, troubleshooting and support for GIS hardware and software.
Keeps inventory of GIS systems and responds to inquiries and issues.
