Job summary

Ruekert & Mielke, Inc. is seeking a GIS Analyst to contribute to municipal projects from concept to completion. You’ll collaborate with our GIS team to deliver high‑quality solutions using Esri tools and modern data workflows.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or certificate/associate) in GIS, Geography or related field.
  • 5+ years GIS experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS software or similar platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python or Arcade scripting; knowledge of FME is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement GIS applications using Esri products, including ArcGIS Dashboards, Experience Builder, Field Maps, and Survey123.
  • Use techniques to extract, transform, load, analyze, and share spatial data.
  • Research and integrate new technologies into existing workflows and product stacks, automating workflows wherever possible.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems with GIS applications, including ArcGIS and VertiGIS Studio products.
  • Publish, configure, and maintain hosted feature layers, web maps, and web mapping applications in ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Support project planning and proposal development, collaborate across teams, and present solutions to clients.

As a GIS Analyst, you’ll contribute to GIS application development from concept to completion for a wide variety of municipal projects. You’ll work under the guidance of our GIS Team Leader, collaborating with other GIS analysts, developers, and internal teams to deliver high‑quality services and solutions.

Goals & Responsibilities

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:

Qualifications & Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:

  • Certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or related degree program
  • 5+ years of GIS related experience preferred
  • Strong proficiency with ArcGIS software or similar platforms
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, or Arcade scripting; knowledge of FME is a plus
  • Strong background in GIS techniques and methods (geoprocessing, spatial analysis, system architecture, data management)
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate from non‑technical problem descriptions to technical solutions
