Job summary

Coliseum College Prep Academy Athletics is seeking an Athletic Coach - Girls Track & Field for the spring season. The role involves instructing athletes, scheduling competitions, and supporting all coaching duties under the Oakland Unified School District.

The position requires knowledge of coaching ethics, safety, and CIF policies, with preference for current OUSD certificated staff with a CA teaching credential. This is a part-time role with required compliance training.

Qualifications

• Evidence of coaching theory/techniques in the sport from coursework, prior coaching, or in-service training.
• Knowledge of high school sport rules and regulations.
• Understanding adolescent psychology as it relates to sports.
• Ability to maintain high safety standards in practices and contests.
• High ethical standards in sportsmanship and student relationships.
• Ability to communicate with parents/guardians and school staff regarding problems or emergencies.
• Knowledge of CIF policies related to athletics.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and coach students in the indicated sport.
• Help arrange playing schedules.
• Perform/assist in all coaching responsibilities associated with the position.
• Attend all required meetings and trainings as specified by OAL.
