San Francisco University High School is currently seeking an enthusiastic Assistant JV Girls Soccer Coach to join our athletic department in San Francisco, CA. The role requires exemplary high school level coaching, a passion for teaching young athletes, and a strong commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include leading practices, mentoring players, collaborating with varsity staff, and ensuring adherence to program standards.

Formación

• Experience coaching soccer at high school, college camp, or club level.
• Knowledge of fundamentals and techniques of competitive soccer.
• Ability to participate in training sessions when needed.
• Strong organizational skills and systems.
• CPR/First Aid certificates required

Responsabilidades

• Assist the Head JV Coach in planning and leading practices and matches five to six days per week during the season.
• Provide individual and small-group instruction to develop players’ technical skills, tactical understanding, fitness, and confidence.
• Foster an inclusive environment rooted in respect, teamwork, and sportsmanship for players of all levels.
• Collaborate with varsity staff to ensure consistent skills and team expectations across the program.
• Support warm-ups, substitutions, and in-game coaching as directed by the Head JV Coach.
• Lead practices and oversee team activities in the Head JV Coach’s absence as assigned.
• Help track attendance and address participation and well-being concerns with the Head JV Coach.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, travel, and other activities, ensuring safety.
• Assist with equipment setup, breakdown, and inventory; attend athletic department staff meetings.

Job Description:

UHS is currently seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant JV Girls Soccer Coach. The successful candidate must have:

• exemplary coaching skills at the high school level.
• strong experience in educational-based athletics.
• passion for teaching and learning from young people.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head JV Coach in planning and leading dynamic, engaging practices and preparing for matches five to six days per week during the season.
• Provide individual and small-group instruction to develop players’ technical skills, tactical understanding, fitness, and confidence.
• Reinforce an inclusive environment rooted in respect, hard work, teamwork, sportsmanship, and supporting teammates, encouraging growth for players of all experience levels.
• Collaborate with the varsity coaching staff to reinforce consistent skills, terminology, and team expectations throughout the girls soccer program, and assist in evaluating JV players’ development and readiness for varsity opportunities.
• Assist with warm-ups, substitutions, and in-game coaching as directed by the Head JV Coach.
• Support team celebrations, joint JV and varsity activities, and CIF playoff preparations, as assigned.
• Lead practices and oversee team activities in the Head JV Coach’s absence, as assigned.
• Help track attendance and communicate concerns about participation, conduct, or student-athlete well-being to the Head JV Coach.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, team travel, and other assigned activities, ensuring safety measures and expectations for appropriate conduct are followed.
• Assist with the setup, breakdown, inventory, and care of team equipment.
• Collaborate with athletic support staff to meet team needs and attend athletic department staff meetings.
• Promptly report injuries or illnesses to the athletic trainer and Head JV Coach, complete required injury report forms, and follow athletic training guidance regarding participation and return to play.
• Complete and maintain all required coaching certifications and school training.

Requirements

• Experience as a soccer coach at the college camp, club, high school or college-level
• Knowledgeable of the fundamentals and techniques of competitive soccer
• Can play in during training sessions when needed
• Strong organizational skills and systems
• CPR/First Aid certificates required

Salary:

This is a seasonal, part-time job. $30/Hr.
