Job summary

St. Luke’s School is seeking a dynamic Girls Ice Hockey Coach to lead our program and mentor student-athletes.

The successful candidate will direct the program from grades 7–12, plan practices and games, manage equipment with athletic staff, engage with college coaches, and represent the school at league meetings while promoting integrity, teamwork, and excellence. This role emphasizes character development, resilience, and leadership on and off the ice, with responsibilities spanning

Qualifications

• Strong communicator with students, parents, alumni, and administration.
• Desire and ability to help grow and cultivate the program into one of the region’s best.
• Ability to be the program director, while cultivating and leading the growth and development of the program from grades 7-12.
• Passion for the sport of ice hockey and for developing, leading, mentoring, and inspiring student-athletes.
• Ability to work with student-athletes who wish to play ice hockey in college.
• Ability to cultivate relationships with and represent our school and program with college coaches.
• Ability and desire to represent the school and ice hockey program to prospective student-athletes.
• Passion for working with and inspiring female student-athletes.
• Proper working knowledge and experience within the sport of ice hockey.
• Taking the lead in practice planning, game planning, and communicating these plans with student-athletes and coaches.
• Help to manage equipment inventory for the team in conjunction with athletic administration.
• Work with our athletic training staff to ensure the health and safety of all student-athletes at all times.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by Athletic Director.
• Represent the school and program at all league and conference meetings.
• Overseeing the development of the middle school program.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the girls ice hockey program and serve as coach and mentor.
• Direct practice planning and game strategy, and communicate plans clearly to players and staff.
• Coordinate equipment inventory with athletic administration.
• Collaborate with athletic training staff to safeguard player health and safety.
• Represent the school at league and conference meetings and engage with college coaches.
• Oversee development initiatives for middle school hockey and program growth.
