The American Youth Foundation is seeking a Girls Camp Coordinator to lead a team of Cabin Leaders at Miniwanca in Shelby, Michigan. This on-site role focuses on guiding campers, coordinating age-group activities, and ensuring safety and well-being throughout the season.

You will work closely with the Activities and Logistics teams, provide training and feedback to staff, handle camp programming, and manage emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 years old.
• CPR certification provided during staff training.
• 2–3 years working or volunteering with youth in recreational or educational settings.
• Professional experience as a peer supervisor or 2–3 years of student leadership.
• Strong facilitation and teaching skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage people to support their development.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with good judgement.

Responsabilités

• Primarily responsible for the health, safety, and wellbeing of campers.
• Manage behavior challenges with respect for youth and foster social-emotional growth.
• Ensure camper safety at all times and respond to emergencies.
• Build relationships with campers to promote positive group dynamics.
• Communicate with camper families as necessary.
• Co-supervise a team of Cabin Leaders; provide training and daily support.
• Coach staff on conflict resolution, group management, and activity facilitation.
• Create and maintain staff schedules to ensure proper coverage.
