Job summary

SEQUOYAH MIDDLE in Riverdale, Georgia seeks an Athletic Head Coach (Certified CCPS Employee) to oversee the delivery of sports coaching to K-12 students. The role focuses on supervising, training, and developing core movement and sport-specific skills, while encouraging ongoing participation and healthy activity.

Reporting to the School Site Athletic Director, the Head Coach will coordinate practice schedules, registration, equipment issuance, and try-outs; supervise athletes and teams; and

Qualifications

• Certified employee serving in teaching or administrative position.
• Or certified paraprofessional with GHSA/NCSC prerequisites and Head Coach class.
• Follow all policies for head coaches.

Responsibilities

• Instructs and coaches K-12 students on fundamentals of sports.
• Set rules, policies and regulations for the team.
• Oversee athlete registration and equipment issuance; coordinate try-outs.
• Coordinate and supervise practice schedules and supervise athletes/teams.
• Guide students to participate in sports at an appropriate level.
• Collaborate with staff to coordinate opportunities; initiate where needed.
• Partner to monitor impact and promote healthy lifestyles.
• All other duties as assigned.
