Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a dedicated C-Team Coach to help develop a sustainable feeder system and foster student-athlete growth within our basketball program and other sports.

You will teach fundamentals and advanced athletic skills, emphasize safety and equipment knowledge, and collaborate with feeder programs to recruit participants while prioritizing equity for urban youth in Colorado.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current CPR Certification or ability to obtain prior to coaching.
  • Teacher Certification is preferred.
  • Completion of CHSAA coaching registration.
  • Previous coaching experience or experience with urban youth and/or teaching work.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.

  • Serve as the C-Team Coach while helping develop and strengthen the program's feeder system and fostering student-athlete growth.
  • Teach fundamental and advanced athletic skills to prepare athletes for competition.
  • Be knowledgeable about sports equipment, fitness, and safety.
  • Become an expert on the rules, strategies, and techniques required for the sport.
  • Support the coordination and recruitment of student participants.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as the C-Team Coach while helping develop and strengthen the program's feeder system. This role is responsible for fostering student-athlete growth, supporting skill development at the entry level, and building a sustainable pipeline of athletes through collaboration with feeder programs and youth development initiatives.
  • Teach fundamental and advanced athletic skills to athletes in order to prepare them for competition.
  • Knowledgeable about sports equipment, physical fitness, and safety.
  • Become an expert on the rules, strategies, and techniques required for the sport.
  • Support the coordination and recruitment of student participants.
What You'll Need
  • Have at least a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Have a current CPR Certification or the ability to obtain one prior to coaching (online CPR not accepted).
  • Teacher Certification is preferred.
  • Completion of CHSAA coaching registration.
  • Have previous coaching experience or experience working with urban youth and or teaching experience (preferred but not required)
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
