Job summary

Digital Realty is seeking a Giga Campus Construction Lead to plan, coordinate, and direct construction delivery for campus projects. You will liaise with design managers, contractors, consultants, vendors and customers to ensure safety, schedule adherence and budget compliance.

Applicants bring 5+ years in mission-critical construction or related MEP environments, plus strong budgeting and scheduling experience. LEED AP credential is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in mission-critical construction or comparable MEP environment.
• Experience with general contractor, subcontractor, or equipment vendor.
• Strong knowledge of scheduling, budgeting, and cost control.
• Technical understanding of MEP systems and data center operations.
• LEED AP credential preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee large-scale construction including site development, ground-up builds, and data center deployments.
• Build relationships with general contractors, subcontractors, equipment vendors, and consultants.
• Review budgets, schedules, and construction docs to ensure quality and targets.
• Serve as SME when evaluating customer leases and active projects.
• Lead budget and schedule review meetings with stakeholders and customer reps.
• Direct and coordinate internal design/construction managers and third-party consultants.
• Develop and manage budgets and schedules across multiple buildings in varying phases.
• Monitor active work and escalate issues to drive resolution.
• Conduct site observations to ensure budget, schedule, and quality adherence.
• Support permitting and entitlement processes with consultants and government agencies.

Job description

Position Title: Giga Campus Construction Lead

The Giga Campus Construction Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing construction delivery for assigned campus projects. This role serves as a key liaison across internal teams and external partners—including design managers, contractors, consultants, vendors, and customers—to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Oversee large-scale construction efforts including site development, ground-up builds, data center deployments, and customer fit-outs.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with general contractors, key subcontractors, equipment vendors, and consultants.
• Review project budgets, schedules, and construction documents to ensure quality and alignment with internal targets.
• Serve as a construction subject matter expert when evaluating prospective customer leases and active projects.
• Lead budget and schedule review meetings with internal stakeholders and customer representatives, reporting on risks and progress.
• Direct and coordinate internal design and construction managers as well as third-party consultants and engineering partners.
• Develop and manage project budgets and schedules across multiple buildings in varying phases of design and construction.
• Monitor active construction work, escalating issues and driving resolution as needed.
• Conduct or delegate site observations to confirm adherence to budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
• Support permitting and entitlement processes through coordination with consultants and government agencies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mission-critical construction or a comparable MEP-focused environment (e.g., biopharma or life sciences); data center experience preferred.
• Experience working for a general contractor, subcontractor, or equipment vendor preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of construction scheduling, project budgeting, and cost control practices.
• Technical understanding of MEP systems and data center operations.
• LEED AP credential preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field preferred.
