Qualifications

  • Must hold valid Gifted Education licensure in Ohio.
  • Within 60 days, obtain Gifted Education Supplemental licensure in Ohio.
  • Within two years, add Gifted Education Endorsement to Ohio license.
  • Must be properly licensed for the specific assignment.
  • Desired: Master's degree and/or evidence of ongoing certified professional development.
  • Desired: minimum of three years of successful experience in teaching gifted students.
  • Desired: experience in urban settings with diverse student population.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with administrators, staff, parents, students and community.
  • Plan and develop new educational initiatives.
  • Commitment to use best practices and research-based curriculum, instruction and assessment.
  • Assist all students to meet or exceed 21st century knowledge and skills.
  • Articulate what students should know and be able to do, while working to help students achieve.
  • Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for all lessons.
  • Plan and deliver learning experiences that advance the learning of each individual student; show written evidence of preparation upon request.
  • Design authentic learning experiences for students to learn core knowledge, 21st century skills and literacies.
