Job summary

Irving ISD is seeking a qualified Teacher to provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences across core academic subjects. The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor's Degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate, and have demonstrated competency in their subject area.

This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as fluency with technology to enhance student learning. Additional qualifications include effective classroom management skills and collaboration with other educational staff.

Qualifications

• At least one year of student teaching or approved internship.
• Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned.
• Present subject matter according to guidelines established.
• Work cooperatively with special education teachers/staff to modify curricula.

Skills

Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Fluent with technology use

Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Valid Texas teaching certificate for subject/level assigned

Completion of Texas Reading Academy required for Elementary

ESL Supplemental Certification preferred
