Gateway Endoscopy Center is seeking a full-time GI Technician to join our outstanding team. You can choose to work either 4 days or 5 days per week and become part of a dynamic, patient-focused environment. Qualifications

• High school graduate required; certification in Endoscope reprocessing a plus.
• 1–3 years GI Lab experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills are essential.
• Good manual dexterity and ability to handle instruments quickly.
• Conscientious, organized and able to handle the stress of a busy GI lab.
• Team player who can communicate in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Delivers safe patient care as directed by the RN and center policies.
• Assists physician with GI procedures efficiently and effectively.
• Anticipates physicians’ needs before and during procedures.
• Meets patients’ learning needs per the plan of care.
• Maintains safety, proper aseptic technique, and appropriate intervention as needed.
• Demonstrates knowledge of designated skills for the position.
• Cleans and cares for endoscopy equipment correctly.
• Keeps inventory adequately stocked and organized.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Delivers safe patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and according to center's policy and procedure.

• Efficiently and effectively assists physician with procedures.

• Anticipates physicians’ needs both in preparing for procedure and during procedure.

• Demonstrates ability to meet patients and family's learning needs as identified in the plan of care.

• Provides appropriate interventions related to safety issues.

• Demonstrates appropriate knowledge and competence of designated skills identified for position.

• Demonstrates proper cleaning and care of the endoscopy equipment

• Maintains adequate levels of inventory
• Demonstrates principles of aseptic techniques

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Certification in Endoscope reprocessing a plus
• One to three years previous experience in GI Lab a plus
• Strong Customer Service Skills
• Manual dexterity to handle instruments quickly
• Must be conscientious, organized and able to handle the stress of a busy GI lab environment
• Must be able to function as a team player
• Possess the abilityto lift 25 pounds
• Must be able to communicate and understand the English language, both written and verbal
