Job summary

The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNMCCC) invites applications for Open Rank leadership in Hematology/Oncology with a focus on GI cancers. The successful candidate will provide scientific leadership for the GI Oncology program, steering translational to clinical research and building collaborative multidisciplinary teams across the cancer center and medical school.

Applicants should have a strong track record in cancer research with extramural funding, be eligible for

Qualifications

• PhD, MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent graduate degree.
• Board certification in an oncology relevant specialty (hematology/oncology, pathology, surgery/surgical oncology).
• Strong track record of sustained scholarly accomplishments with peer-reviewed funding and publications in GI cancers.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and scientific expertise for UNMCCC GI cancers programs.
• Lead multidisciplinary research teams and collaboration across departments.
• Develop and lead investigator-initiated and early phase clinical trials in GI malignancies.
