Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to support clinical care under supervision and perform essential clerical duties. The role includes exam room prep, vitals, and assisting physicians with patient visits.

You will perform EKG, PFT, Audiometry, Titmus tests as indicated, handle lab tasks, and maintain accurate records while ensuring confidentiality and compassionate communication with diverse patient populations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent such as a GED.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to interact effectively with varying populations.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certified Medical Assistant or national certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists in providing clinical care to select patients under supervision.
• Prepares exam and treatment rooms, supplies and instruments.
• Takes patient vital signs and records in the medical chart.
• Performs EKG, PFT, Audiometry, and phlebotomy as indicated.
• Maintains patient records and assists with billing procedures.
• Uses computer software to manage office systems.
• Identifies confidentiality needs and protects patient information.
• Adapts care to patient age, culture, language, or disability as needed.
• Lifts, pushes, and pulls minimum required weights; stands for extended periods.
