Job summary

Medical City Arlington is seeking a Registered Nurse for the GI Lab on a PRN basis. This opportunity offers self-scheduling and collaboration with a dynamic surgical team in a high-volume environment.

You will evaluate patients pre- and post-procedure, educate families, manage preoperative care, and participate in universal protocols to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes. On-call duties apply during select hours.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• No travel required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices.
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
• Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking skills and leadership to deliver safe nursing care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor during shift and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about the patient’s medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures.
