Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant for a full-time role in the GI Clinic at the Cedar Rapids main campus. The CNA will assist CMA/LPN/RN, room patients, take vitals, and help with patient education and safety.

Qualifications include CNA certification, BLS, and mandatory reporter training. Prior patient care experience is preferred. The role requires ability to lift 20-50 lbs and work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant license/certification required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Iowa Dependent Adult Abuse/Iowa Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter training completed.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, effective patient care in GI clinic alongside CMA/LPN/RN.
• Rooms patients, takes vitals, reviews histories and allergies.
• Communicates patient information clearly during handoffs and with families.
• Assist with clinic flow, prep rooms/equipment, and support infection control.
