Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of a medical assisting education program accredited by ARC-PA, ABHES, or by any accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education.
• Career and Technical Education Health Sciences Program approved by South Carolina Department of Education.
• Military medical assisting program.
• DOL-approved Registered Apprenticeship for medical assisting.
• Training program delivered by a health care employer aligned to a nationally accredited certification exam (must be completed within 90 day probationary period).

Responsibilities

• Performs work in clinical and administrative areas as needed.
• Completes initial patient clinical assessment and documents in the patient chart.
• Assists provider within scope of competence to fill medications, place orders, and handle in-basket tasks.
• Return patient calls and other duties assigned.
