Job summary

Bank of America in Jacksonville, FL seeks an investigative professional to conduct financial crime investigations, identify risk, and elevate potentially suspicious activity. You will analyze complex customer and transaction data, document findings, and ensure regulatory compliance.

You will manage the full lifecycle of investigations, prepare SARs, report to senior stakeholders, and support enterprise policy and quality standards.

  • Analyze financial transactions to assess whether activity is suspicious and warrants further investigation.
  • Manage the full investigation lifecycle, from initial review through documentation and resolution.
  • Gather and evaluate relevant information to support sound decision-making throughout the investigative process.

Job Description

This role is responsible for conducting financial crime investigations to identify, assess, and elevate potentially suspicious activity. Investigators analyze complex customer and transactional information, evaluate risk, identify patterns that may indicate financial crimes, and determine appropriate next steps based on the facts and available evidence.

Successful investigators apply sound judgment, professional curiosity, and critical thinking to reach well‑supported conclusions. They clearly document investigative findings, articulate risk‑based decisions, and ensure work is completed in accordance with regulatory requirements, enterprise policies, and quality standards. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple investigations while producing work that withstands regulatory and independent review.

Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • Technical proficiency and the ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple investigative systems and tools simultaneously
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Acts with a sense of urgency and creates this in others
  • Demonstrates problem-solving, analytical & organizational skills
  • Acts decisively and with good judgment
  • Must be flexible & adaptable; ability to handle multiple and shifting priorities
  • Thinks strategically and willingly participates in projects and other opportunities

  • High emphasis around identifying and managing risk
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desired Qualifications
  • 1+ years in AML or financial crimes investigation
  • Familiarity with transaction monitoring and case management systems
  • CAMS certification (or working toward it) a plus
