The Mental Health Technician is part of the multi-disciplinary treatment team providing direct services to the Geriatric population/Adults in a residential setting. The clients in this setting have a primary diagnosis of mental health disorder and may also have chemical dependency problems. This position provides direct services, including admissions procedures, case management, continuity of care, and client reengagement. This position is a liaison between the facility, clients, and their families, and coordinates services and the continuum of care for clients. The individual in this position is expected to subscribe to the recovery and trauma informed care models. The Mental Health Technician is responsible for the client’s daily activities, which may include life skills, socialization, recreational and occupational activities.
