Job summary

The Indianapolis VA Medical Center seeks a Geriatrics physician to lead and participate in outpatient clinics and geriatric consultations. The role includes teaching residents and fellows, plus collaboration across services to optimize care for aging Veterans.

Expect to contribute to research and quality improvement, while maintaining credentials and participating in hospital programs and EDRP opportunities where applicable.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required.
• MD or DO degree from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine.
• Residency in an accredited core specialty with board eligibility.
• Board certification preferred for faculty status.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, teaching, and research within Geriatrics and Extended Care.
• Oversee medical care for geriatric patients under care.
• Assist residents, fellows, and APPs in evaluation and treatment.
• Perform outpatient geriatric evaluations and consultations timely.
• Participate in performance improvement and hospital committees.
• Engage in continuous quality improvement and education activities.
