Job summary

Majestic Care of Connersville is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our geriatrics-focused care team. The SLP will evaluate and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing disorders, and will implement individualized plans to improve communication and safety during meals.

Collaborating with nursing, dietary, and therapy staff, you will document progress per HIPAA and SNF guidelines, maintain licensure, and contribute to a resident-centered care

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
• Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
• CCC-SLP from ASHA preferred; Clinical Fellowship (CF) candidates may be considered.
• 2+ years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care setting preferred.
• Familiarity with Medicare, PDPM, and SNF documentation standards strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate residents’ speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing function.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings and resident goals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions targeting speech, language, voice, fluency, cognitive communication, and dysphagia disorders.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques to support carryover and safety.
• Monitor resident progress and adjust treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment that encourages resident participation and comfort.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care.
• Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress notes, and billing in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards, including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection control protocols, and SNF-specific regulatory requirements.
