Job summary

Senior PsychCare seeks a Psychiatrist to join our team serving long‑term care and rehabilitation patients in Houston and surrounding areas. You will conduct cognitive and mental health evaluations, prescribe appropriate psychotropic medications, and document care in our EMR in collaboration with NPs/PAs and other clinicians.

The role emphasizes geriatric care, comprehensive assessments, and a commitment to high standards of care within a multidisciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in Geriatric care.
• BC/BE Psychiatrist.
• Texas license required.
• Willingness to travel to nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuity of care to long-term care residents.
• Enter diagnostic and treatment plans into EMR for audits and review.
• Prescribe medication and treatment for mental health issues.
• Conduct mental health screenings and cognitive analysis.
• Comply with protocols and collaborate with nursing staff.
• Participate in Behavioral Rounds and improve care quality.
• Attend trainings and meetings as required.
• Assess mental capacity.
