Job summary

Qualifications

• US Citizenship is required; non-citizens may be appointed where recruitment of citizens is not possible per VA policy.
• Must hold a Doctor of Medicine or equivalent in allopathic or osteopathic medicine.
• Current, full, unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state/territory/DC.
• Residency training approved by ACGME/AOA leading to board eligibility.
• One year post-medical school training plus two years of independent practice allowed under certain conditions.
• Non-U.S. residency programs require minimum 3 years of verified practice in the U.S.
• Residents in ACGME/AOA programs may be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs).
• PRPs must be fully licensed physicians and may be intermittent.
